I am 18 have had sinus problems as well as speech problems all my life. I dont get too many infections but get extreme pressure in my head (not really painfull but foggy and very uncomfortable. Most of the time my voice is very muffled, low, and inarticulate. It is a huge effort for me to talk. I feel like this is correlated with my sinus problems because there are times when i feel my sinuses and nose open and relax, the pressure equalizes and i can speak freely. My voice becomes clearer, fuller, and deeper, and i can feel it vibrating through my whole head (sounds wierd but its a great feeling). This will happen for small periods throughout the day. Two things that help trigger this are change in altitude and putting pressure on the back of my head. Ive tried all kinds of nasal steroid sprays with no relief (affrin clears my symptoms too but cant use it more than two days in a row). I have been recomended to have balloon sinus surgery but i want to make sure that it is the right solution. My Ct scan shows very narrow sinus openings but no pollyps or disfigurement. Does any one know if the sinuses could be responsible for my speech/vocal and pressure problems or is there something else going on? PLEASE ANSWER!

I don’t think it is likely that the sinus problems and the speech problems are connected, though a sinus problem could make your speech sound nasal.

My Mom is suffering from a major headache that its even affecting her jaw. She can’t eat or drink anything cold is just makes the pain worse. She went to the dentist and he saw their wasn’t anything wrong with her tooth. But she still is in major pain.

What’s the remedy of this?

I constantly have sinus infections and have tried every remedy( netti pot, etc). an ear nose and throat doctor did a scan of my sinuses but found no blockage but said I have a deviated septum. He could not say that it would fix my sinus drainage problem. Does anyone have expertise or advice? I have been struggling with this for years. Thanks

My sinuses hurt some this morning on my way to work, got better and are bothering me again as the day wears on. I haven’t had a sinus infection in a few years so I can’t remember exactly what it’s like.
