Question by Diamond Girl: Is it possible to have a sinus infection without a fever?
I have all the symptoms of a sinus infection except a fever. Sinus pain and yellow mucus but no fever.

yes it is very possible often causes of this are because of an allergic reaction or a cold. for example the allergic reaction will cause a migraine but since you wont be ill at the time it wont cause a fever. another example of this is if you have a cold and blocked up airways then going in high altitudes such as a plane or going deep under water can cause a sinus. eventually however you are more prone to get a fever because of the sinus but only after a period of time.

Question by Jedi Senshi: sinus relief medications without decongestant?
I have a cold that has moved into my sinuses and I’m not allowed to take a decongestant for relief (thyroid problem). Is there any over-the counter medications for sinus relief that don’t have a decongestant?

A drug-free saline nasal spray might be helpful. Adding garlic and cayenne pepper to your food can also help ease congestion. A warm washcloth over your forehead might also be helpful.
