Question by Brookeee: can you take azithromycin with another type of medication?
I was perscribed zithromax(azithromycin) by my doctor and i also have a stuffy nose. am i allowed to take another medication along with that? Its called mucas sinus relief and i got it at rite aid. ive been taking it when it started but i just got the perscribtion today for zithromax. please help!

Answer by sunny112358 azithromycin increases a protein in your body called Cytochrom P450, which plays a crucial role in the metabolism of some drugs. Dose adjustment might be necessary for certain class of drugs like heparin, which is a blodd thinner. considering your age and history it should be fine you don’t need any dose adjustments.
Have gotten over my cold but the constant rattling when I breathe just drives me nuts as I can’t seem to get it to break loose. I don’t smoke and am good health other wise. I don’t know if my sinuses are draining at night and causing this but the feeling of something being in my throat causes me to clear it constantly. Any suggestions ?
I have severe allergies to cats and dogs and any animal with dander. I have tried all OTC allergy meds, and most prescription meds. When an allergry outbreak happens I get hives, swollen eyes, sneezing and have ended up in the ER more than 20 times with allergy related asthma attacks. I usually end up with some sort of bronchail infection, ear infections and sinus infections after prolonged contact. My doctor has been extremely understanding but insists all my serious issues are allergy related. I am a Vet Tech student and have an internship coming up. Any advice on what I should do to control the allergies? Quitting is not an option as I have put thousands of dollars into my education and have a passion for nothing else. Serious answers only please, as this is life threatening and life changing.
