Question by paws4thecause: treatment for cat with bad skin problems, and other cat with chornic sinus drainage problems?
I have a cat rescue and have allot of cats with various health problems, one has a major sking disorder causing her to have bald spots and skin looks like elephant, and another cat has had upper resp problems since 1/07 neg on all her test, and been on different meds, just allot of sinus drainage, and sounds as if she is coughing up hair balls all the time, any info on a website for home remedies or holicostic meds? thanks,

Have you discussed these issues with a trained and certified veterinarian? If you haven’t that’s the first thing you should do! There are many many things that can cause those problems. Such as the hair issue could indicate a skin disease or it could be a symptom for thyroid problems among many other things. One big thing I want to note though, never ever *ever* use a product made for another animal on a cat. If it doesn’t say “cat” on the bottle than don’t use it. The only reason I mention this is a lot of the time dog meds and skin conditioners and such can be cheaper so people will buy them for their cats. Unfortunately cats are allergic to many items that dogs aren’t allergic to and can be made very sick and even die just by coming into contact with something as simple as dog shampoo.
