Answer by JohnP Your sinus infection could be bacterial in origin. However, it could also be viral. If it’s a virus, the antibiotics won’t do anything. If it’s bacterial it’ll take a few days before the fever breaks, as the antibiotics don’t do anything about the fever, they kill the bacteria. Once the infection is defeated, then the fever will go down.

Question by Lady D: I believe I have a sinus infection that is coming to an end but I still have a temperature.?
I started menstruating on sunday and I also started to feel a cold coming on. During my monthly I will run a fever or feel very hot and warm. So from last week until now I have been feeling warm which isn’t unusual. Usually when I have a minor cold it turns into a sinus infection. So my question is my period is over and my sinus infection is nearing an end so why do I still have a fever?

Answer by clock Hi Lady D,
You have stated your case so eloquently. It makes me feel sad to contradict you.
Here is what I think. You have your periods each month just like one half of this world’s population of your age group. Periods follow a predictable pattern. You are right on the money.
Colds and sinus infections do not follow a predictable pattern because your immunity state, age, nutritional status, virulence of causative agent are not always the same. You feel that that your sinus infection is nearing its end. This is your feeling. The truth is, according to you, “I still have a fever.” Fevers are caused by infections. Is it not possible that your infection is just beginning. Remember, it is possible to have one infection on the top of another etc?
Question by v??????: i still have a sinus infection and i took antibiotics?
i got it around december 31 and took amoxicillan syrup 400mg twice daily for 5 days. when i bend over i have pain in my forehead today which online says is caused by sinus infection. i thought the infection is gone by now?

Answer by KC It could be inflammation. I used to take Amoxicillan growing up, so it no longer is effective for me. Use a humidifier to help keep you from drying out, especiallly if you are on decongestants. Call a pharmacist and get his or her advice
Question by heinrich533: Do I still have a sinus infection?
In early December, I started having mild headaches, pain in the upper teeth and slightly raised body temperature (no fever though). I went to the doctor and was given amoxicillin for sinusitis. After four days of taking this I felt awful, with worsened headaches, sweating and fatigue. I went back to the doctor and was put on a ten day course of Augmentin.
It took awhile, but by the end of the treatment I felt 100% better. After three days though, I started getting warm again with headaches, more in the facial area this time. I went back to the doctor and he figured that the sinus infection had been undertreated, putting me on a twenty day course of Augmentin (since it had worked before). The first three days were fine but after that, the headaches and elevated body temperature got worse.
I’ve been off of Augmentin for about four days now (my doc and I suspected the cause of this might be a virus and decided to see what would happen if I stopped the meds for a bit) and I am taking Flonase, which helps the headaches. However, I’m still kind of tired at times and my body temperature, while not showing a fever, gets elevated by activities that wouldn’t normally cause me to sweat (EX: I went for a run yesterday, took a shower, and was sweating off and on for an hour AFTER the shower). The last doctor I saw thinks I never had a sinus infection to begin with and may be dealing with chronic rhinitis. That would make sense if it weren’t for this persistent body warmth.
I plan on going back if the sweating continues, but does it sound like I still have some sort of infection?

Answer by softspot100 Yep it does! Keep up with your appointments and don’t be scared to ask for a second opinion as sometimes fresh eyes help with on going problems.
Question by Me: I’ve been taking antibiotics for my sinus infection for about 5 days, stomach is still upset off and on?
All my other symptoms of the sinus infection have cleared, and I have not had a single problem with my nose throughout the course of these antibiotics or even the week before that. My swollen glands have gone down, my throat and my eye quit hurting. And my stomach doesn’t hurt after taking the antibiotics, it does it at any time. Any ideas? Is it still the sinus infection that’s causing the pain?

Answer by John There are over 300 different antibiotics and antibiotic kills the friendly bacteria in your intestines.
Live digestive enzymes heal and every single cell in your body needs live digestive enzymes to break down undigested food we eat. You should chew your food well to create saliva which is live enzymes.
