Question by mazzie: Severe Sinus Problems—ragweed?
I have severe sinus problems. I’ve seen an ENT doctor and a neurologist with no results. Currently I am suffering from what I think is ragweed allergy. My only syptoms are severe sinus pain and general sick feelings (nausea, temperature fluctuation, fatigue) I use a nasal spray and take Zyrtec daily. They help a little. Any ideas, suggestions? I am particularly interested in trying some homeopathic remedies.

I have heard people have had success with sinus irrigation systems.

In 2004, this patient had sinus surgery where his doctor burned his right inferior turbinate and damaged his trigeminal nerves causing Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia. This causes him to have electric shocks in his face while he sleeps at night. He was put on Neurontin and Lyrica, which led him to have Grand Mal Seizures. These seizures were so severe that it caused complete tearing of his rotator cuff. The NBE treatments have helped decrease the level of shocks he experiences at night and his shoulder pain was also improved.

Question by kristina: my boyfriend has a severe sinus infection and no health insurance, what can he do to get better?
He’s always congested, when he blows his nose thick thick dark green mucus comes out with blood and most of the time, even scabs or some red brown stuff. What can he do to help him feel better? What are good ways to clear up your nose? To help this sinus infection? Any good over the counter meds?

What state do you live in and how much does he make. Some states have cheap health care for low income people. I’m 28, live in California, told them I make $ 600 a month, and went to the hospital and had an ultrasound done and talked to a doctor and it cost me $ 10.

I wont remember to come back to this question, so just google the state and the following phrase “low income health care” and research.

For example, I googled “California low income health care”.

Question by Jeanmarie: Have severe sinus, possible lacrimal gland problems-HELP?
I am praying that a SMART M.D. reads this and knows what may be wrong with me.
I have spent thousands and have little relief.
I suffer from dizziness, (right now) my left side of my face is very swollen near my eye-think lacrimal gland area. The swelling runs horizontal near tear duct to lateral of cheek bone. My left eye waters and burns. it also seems like I feel a tickle or prickle on my left cheek area-once had a tick from some nerve . Weird.

I take allergy shots for dust and mold, get frequent sinus infections. Have had x-rays-nothing. Dr wants MORE x-rays-have awful insurance and I’m now broke because of my illness.
Also have ear problems-ringing, feels like it’s swollen deep in ear. Had hearing test-fine.
I’m so sick of this.
I’m female age 48. The ENT is just starting to talk about lacrimal gland issues. It’s mostly on my left side.

Jeanmarie- You may well have a combined sinusitis with allergy effects. Stay with your ENT physician’s advice.
