Question by Adriana, Chase and Jayden’s Mom: Migraines or Sinus headache in pregnancy, which one?
I’m currently 38w3d’s pregnant and having terrible headaches for past couple of days. Mainly it’s on the right side of my head that hurts. It feels like someone is poking my brain, like it will burst at any time. To try to ease the pain, I’ll rub my temples but that doesn’t help that much. Does this sound like a migraine or a sinus headache? What are the best remedies for it to go away? Thanks in advance!
My blood pressure has been checked and it’s not high at all. Also I’m not seeing bright spots or black outs. Just to add if I inhale (like take a deep breath), I can feel it start to throb a bit. Also I have doctor’s appt tomorrow, so well see but just wanted some advice beforehand.

Answer by DAWK1723 That close to the end of pregnancy, I’d talk to the doctor about it. You really don’t need migraines or anything when you’re trying to have your baby. They can prescribe something to help relieve the pain. Being a localized, stabbing pain, it sounds like a migraine to me.
So I’ve always had sinus headaches, but I’ve been getting them worse this week, like they are intensified. I take tylenol, but it does nothing. My doctors office told me to add a little bit of caffeine in with it that, that sometimes helps. Well, that’s not working either. What can I do to get rid of these sinus headaches. They are debilitating and I can’t get anything done when I have them because all I want to do it lay down. Anyone have any remedies?
I could write a book if I tried to explain everything here I’d like to explain, but I will try to make this as short as I can. I have severe chronic sinunitis, and I am also 22 weeks pregnant. My doctor has tried everything with me from nasal sprays ( nasonex, vicks, and saline ) and none of them work. The Saline spray does help more than the rest though. Anyway, they have also tried me on several prescription and over the counter decongestants such as Tylenol Cold and Sinus, Sudafed, etc. Unfortunately they don’t help either. I am completely frustrated and desperate for some relief. I know you all are not doctors, but if anybody knows anything else that I can try, I would be grateful. A website with information, anything from your life experience, etc, are all welcome. If you would like to chat with me ( I could really use a friend who understands), please email me. Thanks so much for listening.
