Answer by Alex K yes it is very possible often causes of this are because of an allergic reaction or a cold. for example the allergic reaction will cause a migraine but since you wont be ill at the time it wont cause a fever. another example of this is if you have a cold and blocked up airways then going in high altitudes such as a plane or going deep under water can cause a sinus. eventually however you are more prone to get a fever because of the sinus but only after a period of time.
i’ve always had terrible allergies (nose and throat), but after moving from a humid state (virginia) to the dry desert of california, they got worse and my nose got REALLY dry. i usually have postnasal, still do, but now i also have that full stuffy feeling you get with a sinus infection in my face and forehead, and sometimes popped ears, but my nose is not really stuffed up often. is it possible for me to have a sinus infection, or could these just be different allergies? i feel fine otherwise, and i know sinus infections usually cause pain dont they? it takes FOREVER to get an ENT appt here, so i figured i’d ask in the meantime!
My little boy keeps getting these bad headaches and the doctor said after a ct scan that there was “a little” something going on in the sinus area and he was treated with antibiotics, and was headache free for 2 weeks and now it is back. He has no other symptoms other than the headache. I thought sinus infections would at least have a runny nose with it, or being stuffy.
