Will Moxifloxacin work when others didn’t?

I have a chronic sinusitis and I performed a CT scan 1 month ago, it indicates a pansinusitis infection, the doctor prescribed me Tavanic(Levofloxacin) for 10 days and steriods for 15 days….I felt much better during the course but after 2 days the bad symptoms of sinusitis returned again!…..I went to the doctor he advised me to perform a surgery to clean the sinus passages as well and remove the inflammation, butI really don’t want to go into a surgical treatment unless all other medical ways failed to treat me!.
One of my friends which is a doctor advised me to take Moxifloxacin for 10 days, will this work while the Tavanic & the steriods failed?……..do I have to worry from taking Moxifloxacin after 2 courses of Tavanic(Levofloxacin), isn’t this too much on my body?….I don’t have allurgey to Moxifloxacin or Levofloxacin.
Thank you.

likely it won’t do anything that the levafloxacin didn’t. both these drugs have very similar coverage and work by the same mechanism. There is a small chance you’d get some benefit as they aren’t identical medication, but typically antibiotics aren’t effective for chronic sinusitis.
