Question by kristina: my boyfriend has a severe sinus infection and no health insurance, what can he do to get better?
He’s always congested, when he blows his nose thick thick dark green mucus comes out with blood and most of the time, even scabs or some red brown stuff. What can he do to help him feel better? What are good ways to clear up your nose? To help this sinus infection? Any good over the counter meds?

Answer by Cal What state do you live in and how much does he make. Some states have cheap health care for low income people. I’m 28, live in California, told them I make $ 600 a month, and went to the hospital and had an ultrasound done and talked to a doctor and it cost me $ 10.
I wont remember to come back to this question, so just google the state and the following phrase “low income health care” and research.
For example, I googled “California low income health care”.

Question by Emily: Blue Cross insurance coverage for acupuncture?
I called my insurance company today (Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield) to see if they cover acupuncture, and they said that they DO (12 treatments per year) but only for certain diagnoses. However, she wouldn’t tell me which diagnoses are covered for this, and instead she said I would have to ask about a specific diagnosis then she would tell me yes or no (so basically it had to be a guessing game because I assume they don’t want people to find out what is covered then go to to doctor to get that specific diagnosis.) Anyway, does anyone know what diagnoses are considered covered for acupuncture for Blue Cross Blue Shield? She said no already to: infertility, chronic back pain, sinusitis….so what IS covered? So annoying.

Answer by Tom Z I would approach the problem from a different perspective. Find an acupuncture practitioner that you feel is qualified and ask the practitioner or his or her office staff:
•Do you accept Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance?
•Do I file claim forms, or do you (the provider) take care of that?
•What is the cost for an initial appointment?
•How many treatments will I need?
•Will there be any additional costs not covered by my insurance?
The practitioner should be well versed in what Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield will and will not cover.
