Answer by HOOK First thing is stop with the Nasal Spray ( especially if it’s afrin ) you will get a rebound effect which will only make things much much worse.
A sinus infection is serious, You say you have no Money or medical insurance, ouch, usually a Doctor will prescribe Amoxicillin or some other antibiotic which will work rapidly.
Ok so, here we are with Sinuses, have you ever heard of the Netti Pot? it’s a little pot device that you fill with sterile water, ( any supermarket has distilled water ) or you can boil water and let it cool,
The netti pot if purchased as a kit comes with a Saline solution , follow instructions for use.
this will get the solution up into the sinus cavities and wash them out,. Done on a regular basis this will help you in the long run
Question by Michelle H: Having a cold while pregnant…how do I get relief?
I am miserable. Coughing all the time, sinus headaches, runny nose, and now I have mucus rattling in my chest when I breathe. I have no idea what to do, since my normal cold routine is off limits (I really miss my Mentholatum).
Also, should I be worried about the cold effecting my baby? I’ve heard that colds are common in pregnancy, but its hard not to worry when my body feels this bad.
Thanks everyone. Mentholatum (same thing as Vicks) wasn’t on the list, I called my nurse and she didn’t know, so I asked my pharmacist who said no. (Because it can rasie your BP or something). I’m going to try and call again about it.

Answer by mommy_allie I had a high risk pregnancy and Mentholatum was fine to rub under my nose and on my chest while pregnant. I also used a humidifier, tylenol, PLAIN musinex, and cough drops. The best thing to do is to consult your OBGYN about your specific symptoms and your specific pregnancy…but there are things you can use and take to relieve your symptoms. Best of luck
Question by Bella: I’ve been having extreme pressure around my eyes and forehead, the doctor told me I had a sinus infection?
He told me it was probably a sinus infection. The pressure is around my eyes and forehead. I have a stiff neck which is known to be a symptom. Every once and a while I can feel these little cracks in my sinuses ( I have been on anitbiotics for a few days now, but only having some relief) But I always thought that you have congested nasal passages when you have an infection, and I don’t… just wondering if this could be something else… Its really agonizing sometimes and I would like some answers.. Thanks.

Answer by Katie W You don’t always; sometimes it stays deep in the sinuses. Temple and eye pain/pressure (especially between the eyes) is indicative of a sinus problem, yes; I hadn’t heard of a stiff neck as being a symptom of sinus infection though, odd.
I *would* worry a bit if it’s been several days on antibiotics with little to no improvement, though; you may need a different antibiotic. I’d suggest calling up your doctor again for advice. You may also need a decongestant and expectorant to help thin the congestion in the sinuses and help relieve the pain and pressure while the antibiotic hopefully works on the cause. There’s a lot of good over-the-counter ones; I personally prefer Mucinex these days.
Question by Mandolyn Monkey Munch: How long should I wait to workout after having a sinus infection?
I started getting sick last week- and it turned into a sinus infection. I love working out and am very dedicated to doing so, but know I should not do much with a sinus infection as it can get worse. I was given antibiotics 2 days ago and began taking them right away. How soon is too soon to start working out again? (I am talking cardio/weights –like circuit workouts)

Answer by Allejandro The answer is in yourself, Workout when ever you feel fit to do so. This means one day you may be able to and the next you may not. Just know your limits and do everything you can do.
