Question by Alyssa: Advise on getting better?
So the campus doctor put me on antibiotics called amoxicillin, mucus relief MD, sinus relief, and Advil.
Now this is all great but I still feeling like crap and its been about 4 days and my ears at stuffed and I’ve tried almost everything to get it clear, my nose goes in and out of being stuffed. And now im blowing out yellow mucus. Every time I swallow it feels like a razor is going down my throat. I cant sleep because my throat is so tender that when i breathe out my mouth it gives me pain, and most of the time bot nostrils are stuffed so i have to breath out my mouth. So is there anything i can do or take that can make feel better or even just help my throat and ears mostly?? Btw i live on campus and i don’t have a way to get to the store right away…any home remedies?? Thank you for reading =]

I have had the same experience as you. For one thing, I had the same medicine and symptoms. it didn’t work for me either. So, I did it me style. I ate a lot of ice cream and drank tea. Also I just blew my nose until it all came out. It worked for me. if you want to try it, go right ahead.

Question by Vix L: Getting rid of this horrible headache?
I’ve had a headache since last Sunday. I’m guessing it’s a sinus headache since it hurts when I turn my head but my nose isn’t stuffed up. I’ve got a humidifier and I’ve tried using it but it just doesn’t help. Pills aren’t giving me much relief either, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Headaches are caused by tight neck muscles for they go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles that go around your head. When the neck muscles are tight they pull on the muscles going around your head and when they go into pain you have your headache. to get rid of the headache you have to free up your neck muscles and here’s how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

I talk about how I now suspect this was no ordinary sinus infection. I think I have healed on a deeper level than that. Also, I discuss how I woke up this morning and discovered I can eat frozen foods without wincing in pain!! :) I froze a banana and was planning on eating it very slowly and carefully, but to my amazement I was able to chomp away without any pain, haha! Amazing… Never would have thought that it was possible to get rid of it…I’ve tried toothepastes in the past that say they get rid of sensitivity, but nothing has ever helped. In the past when I would eat ice cream or anything else cold I would have to curl up my lip over my teeth and take small nibbles. Thank you for watching :)

I heard form a few people that women often get sinus infections when they are newly pregnant.

Is this true?

i know i have allergies. i take Alavert for relief. i don’t have any right now and i can’t buy any more until i can cash my check. my co-worker on tuesday was sick. she was using tissues and coughing pretty bad. today my nose is getting to be unbearable. i’m sneezing every half hour to hour. i’ve had to use tissues twice so far. my eyes are watery and i’m tired. i know being sick makes u feel tired. i think my sinuses are trying to drain too. i feel like having soup for lunch and drinking hot liquids. the only time i feel like that is if i’m sick or during the winter. i’ve never felt like having soup or hot liquids to drink when my allergies attack. i’m so miserable today. i hope i’m not going to be sick. i’m pretty much needed at work right now. three employees are unable to work. and besides who likes being sick?
i forgot to say my co-working on tuesday believed she had a fever too.
