Question by rachelxelite: Chest Congestion No Fever?
I have chest congestion, and loose my voice quite often, but i feel fine other than coughing up phlegm and the runny/stuffy nose, and sinus drainage, no worn down, body aches or anything, occasionally my eyes do bother me like itchyness and dry. I believe this is allergies, i have had no fever or anything but my mucus is sometimes a nasty green, yellow or brown. Is that normal for allergies, and what are some remedies or relief offered, as i am allergic to gaufenicin.

Answer by C A Another possibility that I think is likely based on your symptoms is chronic bronchitis. You don’t usually get a fever with bronchitis and it will cause you to cough up yellow or green phlegm. It also causes chest congestion. It may be related to allergies and/or a sinus infection that causes you to have mucus building up in your chest creating a breeding ground for bacteria, then you get sick. I would really strongly suggest going to see the doctor, preferably an ear, nose, and throat doctor who can properly diagnose the problem and help you treat it. I wouldn’t suggest just trying home remedies at this point as it sounds like you have been sick off and on for quite awhile.
Question by Chris P: Sinus infection on antibiotics still have a fever?

Answer by JohnP Your sinus infection could be bacterial in origin. However, it could also be viral. If it’s a virus, the antibiotics won’t do anything. If it’s bacterial it’ll take a few days before the fever breaks, as the antibiotics don’t do anything about the fever, they kill the bacteria. Once the infection is defeated, then the fever will go down.

Question by rosebud: Anyone have a sure fire home remedy for sinus pain with a cold (no fever)?
I can’t take decongestants because of bp meds. I’ve taken Corcidin HBP for colds and Excedrin, but the headache and facial pain just won’t go away. A hot shower gave me relief for about 15 minutes. It’s been two days now, and it’s not getting any better. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I think I’ll go out and pick up a neti pot. It seems that many of you have had success with it. Thank you all for your answers.
