I’ve been tapering my prednisone dosage for about a month now. Every time I get down to 5 mg., I get a HUGE sinus infection with unbearable head pain. Do you think the prednisone reduces swelling and when I cut back, my sinuses react by swelling?
I Actually had this experience! I used to take sinus infections lightly like most people. But now I know that it can be just as bad as any other infection! I didn’t go to the doctor until my chest started hurting and I had a fever of 103. And this was a matter of about 1 week After i first started noticing the symptoms. Come to find out; I had developed allergies. And allergies can lead to a sinus infection. So now I take my medication! whether it be homopathic (Natural Medicine) or doctor prescribed. My sinus problems are now under control. But that was the most scary thing I have ever had happen to me.

I have already had 1 sinus surgery and was fine until last winter when I got pneumonia. After that I started getting a sinus infection at least once a month and my pain meds they gave me for fibromyagia dont work.
