What I use is a bulb syringe and non-iodized salt (I was told iodized salt might be irritating) 1 teaspoon/ 2 cups warm water as a nasal rinse. Very gently squeeze the bulb syringe into your nose because you don’t want to drown yourself (of course you can’t, but you can give yourself a horrible snort with one of those things!)

It works for allergies, too!

Question by <3: Have you ever been successfully treated of a CHRONIC sinus infection?
I’ve had a sinus infection as of April of 2009. Nothing has worked. I’ve tried everything from the neti pot, antibiotics, antihistamines, aspirin/acetaminophen/ibuprofen, nasal gels, nasal saline sprays, decongestants, etc. Have you ever successfully treated a CHRONIC sinus infection ?
- and how? Thank you, please.

Lord girl YES! It got so bad it messed with me being able to just walk! Id blow my nose and fall right over! My doctor gave me a scrip for NASONEX! it literally washed away all the blockage in the nose and sinus cavities-I was gagging for a couple days and had serious drainage in other ends because it just KEPT draining! it felt like a miracle! LOL They also gave me a scrip to dry up the fluids behind the ears that had built up! cant remember what it was bc honestly just the nasonex was amazing! go and try that!!!!

Question by Emily: Does a sinus infection ever go away on its own or do you absolutely have to go to the doctor?
Ive had a sinus infection for about 3 weeks and its pretty much stayed the same, but I usually always just get better on my own? Should I go to the doctor or just wait it out?

Answer by Q n A
Sinus infection left untreated will not go away on its own.
See a doctor for antibiotics and nasal spray.
Nose rinse and draining to clear blockage for early recovery.

My 14yr old son has passed out several times and has had all possible tests done. MD seems to think it may be caused by a sinus infection. Could an untreated sinus infection last for months? We just found out about the infection and he has been treated for it. But he started passing out at the end of November. The infection was found late February. He passed out 3 times in November and twice in February. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of passing out due to a sinus infection? Thanks…
