Question by <3: Do you think I’m being selfish and unloving?
Okay, so I am not going to breastfeed my baby after I give birth after all. The reason why is because I will only have medical insurance after 3 months of giving birth to her, and my ENT doctor will refuse giving me antibiotics and any type of treatment for CHRONIC sinusitis. I also MAY have nasal obstruction and/or nasal polyps (CT Scan will reveal) , and so the surgery for it (Medicaid will pay) is thousands. And if I’m breastfeeding I will be refused the surgical procedures. I want to take care of myself so I can sufficiently take care of my daughter. What do you think?

no? breastfeeding is the mother’s choice.
it might be healthier and a cheaper method, but some moms just can’t fit that into their lifestyle.

EDIT: also, the fact that you have to be healthy for your daughter to be healthy, makes it just fine.
and if you’re sick (i’m not exactly sure if thats what you meant in your writing, but i think you said that…i’m a teen, i don’t get all the medical terms! lol) it would be better if you didn’t breastfeed, as you most likely will have to take medication for w/e you have and you wouldn’t want that to interfere with the babies growth.

Question by Ikron21: Can being prescribed a steroidal inhaler for a sinus infection be a disqualifier for the Military?
I had a really bad sinus infection and was prescribed a steroidal inhaler. Can being prescribed an inhaler be an automatic DQ? I dont think so, but I just want to put some worries to rest. I’ve been really touchy about my medical history due to pediatric asthma from the age of five to eight (well before the cut off age of 12) I’m kind of a neurotic, but I just want to be sure.

i’ve always had terrible allergies (nose and throat), but after moving from a humid state (virginia) to the dry desert of california, they got worse and my nose got REALLY dry. i usually have postnasal, still do, but now i also have that full stuffy feeling you get with a sinus infection in my face and forehead, and sometimes popped ears, but my nose is not really stuffed up often. is it possible for me to have a sinus infection, or could these just be different allergies? i feel fine otherwise, and i know sinus infections usually cause pain dont they? it takes FOREVER to get an ENT appt here, so i figured i’d ask in the meantime!

Is this a result of the drainage or what? My ears weren’t stuffed until I went into the doctor and got antibiotics for an apparent sinus infection. Experience would be helpful. Or some knowledge. Thanks.
