Took my 3 year old to the pediatrician for what started out as a cold weeks ago that has ended up in what he says is a sinus infection. He has been on amoxicillin for 5 days now and I haven’t seen much improvement, except his nose isn’t constantly running. Still has a sore throat and congested head and is very very irritable. Any suggestions?

I pretty much have a constant head ache above my left eye. I’ve had it for years. The pain varies from day to day but it’s pretty much there most days.
I know that I have sinus problems because I had a head scan taken about 8 years ago due to the headaches and found that I have no sinus at all on one side of my face and its all squashed on the other side.
The doctor said that short of having a nose job to sort it all out there isn’t anything I can do and if it gets too bad take over the counter sinus medications. But most of these medications clearly state not to use for more than a few days in a row. I take them a few days a week for a little relief but they don’t really do anything. At one point I took them for about 3 weeks in a row and by the end I had nose bleeds daily, so I stopped doing that.
Does anyone have any Ideas? Are there any sinus relief remedies or medications that are more perminant than sinex? because I can’t afford a nose job.

normal?
We’ve also been dealing with a ton of stress due to illness and a death in the family…which may have added to it.
I’ve had type 2 diabetes for 1.5 years and now that my sinus infection & the family member’s illness is better & the stress is passing my glucose readings are almost normal again.
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks so much!

I tried SaltAire Sinus Relief (this one http://www.amazon.com/SaltAire-Sinus-Rel… because I was only able to breathe out of one nostril…it would rotate every hour or so between nostrils. It was driving me nuts, and it was also affecting the quality of my sleep, since I wasn’t getting enough oxygen.
First it goes straight into my throat when I squirt it into either nostril–and I read up on doing this before attempting it, so I know to lean forward over the sink and everything. It goes into my nose and I can taste it in the back of my throat.
It works, but only for a few hours. My nose is clear, I can breathe out of both nostrils. But after a few hours, only one nostril is clear. While that one nostril is more clear than the one nostril was before the cleansing, the other nostril is completely blocked–before I could at least breathe through the “inactive” nostril a tiny bit.
What’s up with that? Do I need to keep doing it twice a day (that’s what the bottle says)?
It also stinks my nostrils a tiny bit, not really enough to use the word “stings” though, maybe just irritates? My nose feels tender, like it does when you’ve had a cold three days in a row and it’s worn out from excessive blowing.
No one sells neti pots in my area, so I’m ordering one of those online to try a salt water solution.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t have a runny nose or sneezing, but I have a lot of pressure on my head behind my ears and my eyes are watery. I feel dizzy and my vision is a little shakey. Has anyone had this with a sinus infection or allergies?
