Im just wondering if a sinus infection could cause a strange smell in and around the nose/forehead area? And if not what could be causing this strange smell on ones skin around his/her nose and forehead area?

It is possible, yes. The real question is what else are you experiencing? Do you have headaches, nasal congestion or drainage, a sensation of pressure behind your face? Have you had a fever? These complaints are not mandatory, but they are common symptoms of a sinus infection. It’s also important to know how long you’ve been experiencing these symptoms.
When you put everything together, you may need to see a physician to discuss the usefulness of antibiotics vs. other nasal medications.
I hope you find this info helpful!

What does it smell like? More details would help, but it IS possible to get a sinus infection from inhaling mold spores, which require anti fungal medication to get rid of it. It’s reasonable to think that if you had mold stuck up in your sinuses it could smell just like with other mold.
