is it okay to be around others tonight while i have a sinus infection?

i’ve planned on going to my best friends house for over 2 weeks now, but i got sick last sunday and i am still sick, so i went to the doctor today and was told that i have a sinus infection and maybe a touch of bronchitis, so i don’t know if they’ll have a chance at getting sick too if i go over there or not. i don’t know what to do

Sinus infections are not a hazard to others: it’d take initimate contact with your snot.

They are often complications of viral cold-like infections, however, and the underlying cold is quite contagious.

I agree with the doc but will add this: staying home will let you rest and recover better. No risk of passing anything around like a party favor or picking anything else up while your immune system is compromised with the infections. Plus, honestly, do you really want to be with a lot of people while your sinuses are full and you feel just short of awful? I know it is no fun but you can go out other nights of 2010 when you are feel better and not sick.
