My sinuses clog up only when I lay down and it causes me to snore. What can I do to stop it.?
Posted by: Alan in Sinus Relief, tags: Causes, clog, Down., Only, Sinuses, snore., stopAll day long I am fine. As soon as I lay down my sinuses clog up and I can barely breath. I do breathing exercises to relax my nasal canal, it gives some relief, only one nasal opens up. When I switch sides I am laying on it switches nasal passages. I believe this is the source of my snoring. What should I do?

I do this thing thats called a Sinus Rinse I think. Its like a little bottle that you squirt up your nose. it feels weird. it feels like when you get chlorine in your nose. but i can breath so much better afterwards.

the nasal rinse is a very good suggestion ‘Neilmed’ is a good brand and available at places like walgreens .. take that advice its not uncomfortable at all really … also if its a chronic problem see your doc coz it could be somthing that needs more serious treatment like nasal polyphs .. not too too serious and actually quite common but dont let it go if youve had these symptoms for more than a month or so .. i had the same thing and it was really aggravating trying to sleep and breathing through the mouth alot, a trip to the doc and its all better now

Snoring is one of those things that can be a problem for you and the people around you. If you want to stop snoring, it is important to consider the cause and severity of your snoring. Identifying the cause can help you choose the right cure.
It makes sense to try some simple non-invasive treatments first to see if they’ll reduce or prevent your snoring.
Here are some of those non-invasive tips to stop the snoring:
• sleep on your side – there’s a higher change of snoring if you lie on your back, and sleeping on your stomach will kill your neck.
• keep a regular sleep schedule – and make sure you get enough sleep, many people snore only when they are overly tired
• elevate your head when sleeping – you can increase the angle of your bed by raising the head of the bed or use pillows to your upper body, don’t just raise your head that’ll put more pressure on your air way and have the opposite effect.
• avoid alcohol and tranquillizers – they basically cause the muscles of your jaw and throat to relax, increasing your changes of snoring.
• Treat your allergies – if your nose is stuffy it may force you to breathe through your mouth when sleeping. If your nose is stuffed I recommend using a netie pot, the are incredibly effective, natural and pretty cheap to.
• buy a mouth guard – mouth guards will keep your jaw muscles from relaxing too much, and prevent snoring. It may not be too attractive to your significant other but it’ll help you both get some sleep!
• Lose weight – when you’re heavier the extra weight puts pressure on your airway, causing snoring.
• if you smoke try to stop – smoking damages your respiratory system, which doesn’t help in the snoring department
Excessive snoring may also mean you have a more serious problem like sleep apnea.
If you wake up with a headache, are extremely tired during the day, don’t feel refreshed when you wake up, have trouble concentrating or a very low attention span, or wake up during the night choking and gasping for breath you should probably see a doctor.
Mild snoring that isn’t related to sleep apnea responds well to home remedies. Finding a cure for your snoring problem can result in an improved quality of life for you and your loved ones.
An effective and pretty simple solution is doing throat excercises, here’s a website with interesting information on the snoring excercises: http://tinyurl.com/y8e9c2k

Research has shown that a whopping one in four people suffer from snoring. If that weren’t amazing enough, most of those afflicted believe there is nothing to be done for their condition. They don’t realize that a good night’s sleep is within their grasp. Some people are giving a new product called Snorezip a try, and are having great results.
Snorezip was developed to increase oxygen flow and reduce mucus. When oxygen flow is increased and mucus reduced, it has been proven that the incidence of snoring will also be greatly reduced, if not eliminated. This product may be just the thing to get those afflicted with snoring on the road to a restful sleep.
Snoring is not just an annoying habit, but can seriously threaten your health. Doctors claim that patients who snore are more likely to be fatigued, and are more susceptible to life threatening conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Snoring also increases the incidence of high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome. Snorezip, with its proven record of reducing incidence of snoring could help reduce this risk.
SnoreZip is very affordable and easy to use. Most snoring remedies involve the use of uncomfortable masks that must be worn at night. The sheer discomfort of these masks is enough to make most sufferers abandon such a program long before there is any benefit. Since SnoreZip is administered as an oral spray, there’s no excuse not to give it a try. Just spray SnoreZip into your mouth before you go to bed, and you could be minutes away from a good night’s sleep!
