My neti pot is not helping me–what is wrong?
Posted by: Alan in Sinus Relief, tags: helping, mewhat, Neti, WrongI have been using my neti pot for about a month now and I haven’t had any relief. I am using the right temperature and salt quantity so I don’t think that is the problem. I use my neti pot in the morning and at night and sometimes in the afternoon. I have had allergies and sinus problems for as long as I can remember (I am 21).
Should I give up on the neti? What else can I try? I do not want to take pills and nasal sprays have not helped me.
Thanks.

I know how you feel. I bought the Neti pot too and I have sinus problems. I think the problem is when one of the nasal passages is blocked because part of the nasal is swollen. If you ever seen inside your nostril, there are two nasal passages. Do you ever notice that when you can’t breathe very good and one side of you nostril is swollen?
Warm salty water dissolves mucus buildup, helping to drain the sinus cavities (hence the pharmaceutical equivalent of nasal sprays or drops, often recommended by GPs when you have a “blocked nose”). This benefits those suffering sinusitis and colds, and by helping to keep the nose mucus free, will help avoid mouth breathing, which dries the throat and can irritate conditions such as asthma and other upper respiratory complaints.

The neti pot is only part of the equation. your gone to have to try to remove the causes .Check for food allergies .try a good air filter with a negative ion charger. You might want to try aromatherpy to help you breath. But I still keep using the neti pot ,The salt water vwill still help break up the mucus

Try Alkalol instead of salt water. Alkalol can be purchased at the local pharmacy, but it is behind the counter. It is an awesome mucous cutter and offers instant relief.
Otherwise, the very best Ear Nose and Throat Doc I know is:
Quisling Richard W MD
5651 Frist Blvd Ste 210
Hermitage, TN 37076
(615) 885-4900
He is the specialist that many famous people use. I wll not violate their privacy. But people fly their private jets in to see him. But, he accepts insurance or will take cash pay. You can afford him and he is fabulous!
PS..if you have to travel to see a doctor, the cost of travel and hotel are tax deductible.

you may have to see a ear/nose/throat doctor
or move from the city
cities are at least 2 degrees higher & higher CO2
so plants grow faster & bigger
my neti pot works one day
then doesn’t the next?
