Does a sinus infection make you extremely tired?
Posted by: Alan in Sinus Infection, tags: Extremely, Infection, Sinus, TiredI have had what I think is a minor sinus infection for nearly a week now and have spent the entire week, very tired. I sleep well at night, go to bed early and am still exhausted all day long.Any ideas what else it could be? (my symptoms are stuffy nose/head, headache, nasal blockage, dry cough)

When I had mine I felt pretty crappy for almost a month. (I had a bad sinus infection) I found that I was sleeping more than normal as well, so I would assume that it is quite normal! I do think if it persits, you should make another appt with your doctor to rule out anything else.

They tell us in school that if you listen to your patients long enough they will tell you what is wrong with them. It sounds like you a have your diagnosis exactly right. Have you tried anti histamines and sudafed or anything?

Yes a sinus infection can make you very tired and drained.
I have suffered with sinus issues all my life and they really drain me most of the time. Try getting some over the counter sinus meds to help dry up your sinus and take a lot of vitamin C it will help get rid of it a little quicker. If you are still sick in a week then you should see a doctor to get an antibiotic to help clear it up. Good luck.

Yes, because even when you are sleeping, you are not sleeping soundly. I find that I snore so loud I constantly wake myself up. I suggest seeing an ear, nose, and throat doctor.

Yes a sinus infection can make you extremely tired. Your immune system is trying to fight off whatever it could be.
You should see a doctor. Its good to self diagnose but do tell your doctor what symptoms you are having. Your doctor then can put you on something if he or she thinks its necessary.
