Is my sinus infection over or getting worse?

I recently had a sinus infection and got antibiotics and finished them today. I’ve been doing better and haven’t felt sick since I got my antibiotics last wednesday. Today I hawked a couple loogies and there was blood in the mucus. And when I blew my nose my snot was really dark colored, a dark brown, if you will. Can someone tell me what’s happening?

As you finished the Antibiotics, you probably have cleared the infection. It takes a few more days to get over the cold like symptoms. To prevent the infection coming back you should not blow your nose very hard, do not hold back a sneeze, as that can force gunk into a sinus and clog it up.

Drainage in the sinuses includes the old blood and phlegm as part of the stuff you need to get rid of. Drink some nice hot teas etc, Use some steam to help clear things up. Drink lots of fluids
