One Response to “Will doxycycline work to kill a sinus infection?”
  1. Mean Green Answering Machine says:

Its one the the most powerful antibiotics, it kills Anthrax and Plague, so it will likely kill a sinus infection. I think they would never list it for a sinus infection because it would be like killing flies with a sledgehammer. And also they don’t want bacteria to become immune to it from over-prescribingg for things that aren’t killed by antibiotics, like virus infections. If you have a lot of it left over so you can take it fro two weeks then you might as well try it, just don’t stop for two weeks so you don’t make it immune to doxycycline!
