What Can I Do About My Sinus Infection?
Posted by: Alan in Sinus Infection, tags: About, Infection, Sinus, WhatSince December I’ve had a sinus infection. I have been on many different antibiotics and medications including Levoquin for 21 days. Nothing helps. I have been to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist and they told me it might be allergies but to finish my medication. I have had allergy tests and they reveal nothing. So what do I do?

I used to suffer from chronic sinus infections, but my doctor had me start doing a sinus rinse twice a day, and I haven’t had one in over a year. You can buy a kit at the drug store or Walmart. It’s a plastic squirt bottle that you use to squirt salt water up one nostril, and it comes out the other. The kits have little packets of salt & baking soda that you mix with water. This will clean a lot of the gunk out of your nose. It takes a little getting used to, but just be sure to use as warm of water as you can stand or it will feel like getting water up your nose at the swimming pool. Hope this helps!
Oh, and have you had a CAT scan? They did one on me a couple of years ago and I had to have sinus surgery. It wasn’t as painful as everyone says it is. It just felt like having a really bad sinus infection. Unfortunately, I still had several sinus infections after that. Only the rinse helped.

has anything changed in your surroundings that may have triggered your sinues to act up?? new furniture, bedding-pillows–any new pets?
The best thing you may do to try and get some relief if you are not already is use a humidifier, and or apply moist warm compresses—–musinex d will thin out mucous—-good luck to you in finding a Dr that can help you.
