Yes, most likely. You bought a generic. it does the same thing. However I see a big difference in your description. The Sudafed says cold, and the other doesnt?

I think it should take care of your stuffy nose symptom. The only problem I have with Sudafed is that I feel completely detached mentally. I take Alleve Cold and Sinus and it works like a charm and I don’t have that detached feeling. Also, it works for 12 hours per tablet so you don’t have to mess with the 4 hour nonsense.

Sudafed is for stuffiness. If you are not sneezing, you do not need an antihistamine, which is another common component of cold medicines.
If you are coughing then look for a product that contains guafenesin; that will thin the mucus in your lungs and make you cough less.
Most people take too much stuff when they have a cold. Blame the pharma industry!

I think so because the symptoms are very similar and hard to differentiate sometimes. I would give it a try.
