Can I Take Antibiotics For A Sinus Infection If I May Be Pregnant?
Posted by: Alan in Sinus Infection, tags: Antibiotics, Infection, Pregnant, Sinus, TakeI am TTC. I have also had a cold for more than a week and will be seeing a doctor today. It is also *the time* to actively try to conceive, and we’ve made a few attempts. So it is possible I am very newly pregnant or may become pregnant in the next couple of days. If the doctor tells me I have a sinus infection (which I suspect he might) is Amoxicillin safe to take? Or something else?

Amoxicillin is safe to take. I’m currently on 875 mg. 2X per day for strep throat.

Tell you doc your TTC and ask for something that is safe. I’m pretty sure Amoxicillin is safe, they wish they could give it to me but I’m allergic to most of the “safe” ones.

Tell your doctor that there is a possibility you are pregnant and he will give you something that is safe for you and the baby.
Good luck!! <3

I think you’re allowed amoxcillin but thats prescription only so you’re doctor won’t give it to you if its not. The only thing i know you’re allowed is paracetemol when you’re pregnant

Most antibiotics are safe. Let the doctor know you may be pregnant, and he’ll be sure to prescribe something appropriate.

This is a question I’d ask my doctor tho there are a lot of medications that you are allowed to take but with monitoring.
