Does Anyone Have Any Suggestions For Nasal And Chest Congestion?
Posted by: Alan in Sinus Relief, tags: Anyone, Chest, Congestion, Does, Have, Nasal, SuggestionsI feel like I’ve tried everything: decongestant, antihistamine, expectorant, steroid nasal spray, a neti pot. I am not getting any relief. The sinus is but the chest congestion has just been the past week. Not sure if I have a cold on top of allergies or what. My doctor always tells me the same thing but it doesn’t seem to help.

Put some lavender in water, put in the microwave for 20 seconds, get a towel, bend over it, and inhale the steam.
Edit: Put the towel so it’s like a tent over your head and the lavender water.

I had severe chest congestion not so long ago, and desperately tried Vicks. Two shots straight up, and I think I nearly died catching breath from a coughing fit that night. I threw the bottle away.
You’re just looking for ideas, and I’m just putting out warnings. Nothing much scares me; don’t do that when serious chest congestion is there.
I recommend Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. The thin salty stuff in the little can. It’s still around for a reason. If it’s a regular allergy, go with Benedryll or something similar. Had a hairdresser that had to get shots for her allergies every couple of weeks in the spring/summer.

Try adding 1 tsp. of apple cider vinegar to a glass of warm water right as you are winding down to sleep. It helps to break down all the congestion not just in your chest but your throat and also ears as well.
You can even dip a cotton ball in it and rub it over your chest, head, neck area wherever you feel congested.
I work with the elderly and we the staff keep it on hand because it works so well for these types of conditions.

A few drops of eucalyptus oil in steaming water helps to clear congestion in the lungs and the sinus. There is a small amount in vicks vaporub, but its best to use the pure oil.

My daughter has allergies and asthma and we use Vicks Humidifier. You buy the liquid oil and put it in the little tray. It works great!
