How about trying putting a heating pad over your face.

Do you think the headache was caused by a sinus infection/mucous or just inflammation (from allergies, the weather, whatever)? Either way you’re going to need to open up your nasal passages to relieve the pressure and feel better… but if it’s the former than you will especially want to get the bacteria drained out to prevent a nastier infection. Try a decongestant, a good nasal spray, something hot to drink, and a steamy shower.
Keep in mind though that if a sinus infection is the underlying cause of the headache, any relief you get will likely be temporary unless you treat the infection as well (this usually means antibiotics).

Mucinex-D, make sure it’s the “D” kind. You have to ask a pharmacist to get it, but you don’t need a prescription. Pseudoephedrine is the active ingredient (the best decongestant on the market).
Also try nasal rinses with warm salt water. Combine these with Advil and take Benedryl, which is so much more effective than loratadine (only at night, it makes you sleepy).

I have chronic sinusitis so I know what you are going through. Personally I take a decongestive prescribed from my doctor and other meds, but for you I would try to use saline, mucinex-D, and maybe use a Humidifier. All of these have worked for me.

The only relief I get is when I take Claratin/Claratin-D. It comes in 12 or 24 hour pills. Other than the medication I haven’t found a home remedy to help my headaches. Good Luck.
