Any Good At Home Remedies For Quick Relief?
Posted by: Alan in Sinus Relief, tags: Good, Home, Quick, Relief, Remedies
So, after getting over my bout of a stomach virus, then Strep Throat, I caught a secondary infection.
I have a severe sinus infection. . .
And it’s giving me terrible pressure migraines.
I’ve tried taking Tylenol, and taking a hot bath. The Tylenol works temporarily, but nowhere near long enough for me to call it relief. . . And the bath just made me nauseous.
Any good remedies you guys know?
And don’t tell me to go to the doc. I’m working on that :]

I know how miserable sinus headaches can be. The best thing for the headaches is Excedrin migraine. If you don’t have that, take aspirin and a shot or two of espresso. Caffeine opens up the blood vessels. Try breathing in some steam to loosen up the congestion. That should help. Feel better.

Do the neti pot.
Also, I am wondering if we can get rid of the cause of this?
Get a fresh toothbrush.
Change your towels, hand, & bath every day for a while.
Open your windows for as long as you can stand, freshen your air in your home .
I m thinking your immune system is down.
Please check out this website below, there is too much to mention here… lots of good self help info for you…
My son is just now getting over strep. I relate.

Try taking Tylenol Sinus to get rid of the headaches. You really should go to the doctor to get some anti-biotics. But you can also try Cold-Eeze and use Vicks Vapor Rub at night to help you breath.
Also take some Vitamin C or drink lots of juice.

I did Emergen-C packets 4 times a day, for about a week. The vitamin c helps your immune system and there are also B vitamins in there that will help you not feel so drained and lathargic. If you are feeling nausia I would suggest ginger drops.
For the headaches and sinus pressure, I would suggest taking a clean knee height sock and filling it with rice. tie a not in it. if you can go buy eucalyptus essential oil and drop a couple drops of it on the sock. put the rice sock in the microwave for 60-90 seconds and rest it on your head, neck. also, you could try a netti pot. it looks like a little gravy bowl, you put a saltwater solution in it and put in your nose and tilt your head. they say it cleans buildup out of your sinusues.

I would suggest taking asprin with caffeine. The asprin will decrease any inflamation, and the caffeine will expand the blood vessels in the brain. Finally try Ice packs to treat the symptoms. (Please excuse the poor spelling.)
