See your dr. Yeah the infection can get out of control. If you are short on $ try to see a dr. in a dr.’s office. Much less expensive than an ER. Try to get some health insurance. If you are working, asking your supervisor about getting insurance. Even if you have to pay for it, it’s worth it. The worst bills are not the doctor bills; it’s the hospital bills.

Take vitamin C and drink lots of water. You may be able to get over it on your own. If you get a fever or a lot of pain you will have to go to a doctor.

I definitely suggest going to the doctor. I thought I had a sinus infection… I’d had pain in my sinuses for the past year, and everytime I’d try taking OTC sinus medications, it would never work. I went to the doctor, who prescribed antibiotics, which didn’t help either. Finally I asked for a referral to an ENT, who gave me a CT scan, and turns out I had a deformed septum which required surgery.
So basically I’ve spent the past year trying to find a cure on my own, for something that wasn’t even a sinus infection. So go to the doctor’s, and I wish you luck!

The only things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need
distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don’t get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.

you should definitely see a doctor, but depending on whether it is a viral infection or a bacterial one, he may or may not give you antibiotics

almost never.
you can take lots of hot showers and blow your nose a lot, but really, this is an infection that can get unbelievably painful.

Sometimes. Try taking a good OTC decongestant and blowing your nose a lot.
