Question by Luna’s Mom: Can a sinus infection cause pain on a tooth that has a root canal?
I have a root canal on one of my molars (Got it about 8 years ago). It hurts sometimes, especially if I eat hard things or meat. It is hurting now while I have a sinus infection. Should I see a dentist? It has been 3 days of tooth pain.

The pain may indeed be coming from a sinus problem if the tooth is an upper back tooth. It may also be due to the root canal failing or if the tooth is fractured. You should see the dentist and let him do some testing and take an x-ray to see if he can determine the problem. Good luck.

I had my root canal done 5 months ago, and for the past 3 weeks it was little pain the gradually progressed. Today i ate a Mc-Nugget and doubled over in pain; so I went to my dentist. They did x-rays and found nothing. So she explained to me that the root was deep and was near th sinus, and asked if I had an infection. So now i’m on antibiotics for a sinus infection. I thought it was weird, but made sense.
